Details
At the edge of the Atacama Desert, one of the driest places on Earth, the Limarí Valley is at the outer limit of wine production in Chile. Despite the extreme conditions, it is a paradise for grape production in addition to the many other fruits which are grown here. Without irrigation, the only plant that will grow is the cactus. The climate is cool, owing to the region’s proximity to the Pacific Ocean and the significant drop in temperature after sunset.
Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay deliver spectacular results with intense flavours, crisp acidity and a mineral quality. Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon deliver an impressive concentration of colour and flavour with an elegance and freshness that is unique within our portfolio of wines.
Concentrated aromas of blackcurrants, plums, black cherries and spices combine with touches of coffee and chocolate. Full-bodied and ripe, it has a fine structure and a long fresh finish.

Marcelo Papa joined Viña Concha y Toro in 1998 and was quickly promoted to Chief Winemaker of the Puente Alto cellar in 1999. He is now also Chief Winemaker of the Maycas del Limarí winery. Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay are Marcelo’s personal passions and of all the regions in Chile, the Limarí Valley is the place that excites him the most.
