Welcome to Rollings Wine Company

Rollings Wine Company was established in 1997 as a wholesale wine company supplying the hotel and restaurant trade, continuing the family name that had traded in Hertfordshire since 1896.

2007 saw the opening of our first shop which has gone from strength to strength. In the 2008 International Wine Challenge Merchant Awards (our first year of entering) we were awarded a ‘Highly Commended’ and have been shortlisted once again in 2011.

At Rollings Wine Company we are able to assist you with menu matching. This was featured on Channel 4’s ‘’Come Dine with Me’’ where Paul was asked to select wines for a special dinner party.

The ethos of the company is simple – good wines at honest prices – not wines you find everywhere, at inflated prices. Quality and value, especially in the current economic turmoil, are things that we seek out and our customers expect.

Paul Rollings

I established Rollings Wine Company in 1997 as a wholesale wine company supplying the hotel and restaurant trade, continuing the family name that had traded in Hertfordshire since 1896 as a wholesaler of tobacco, confectionary and wines and spirits. Some may remember the cream and brown vans travelling around the St Albans area – J B Rollings. Whilst working for my father I studied wine with the Wine & Spirit Education Trust in London, achieving their Higher Certificate.

My father sold the family firm in 1992 after which I worked for Peter Dominic off licences running their Hemel Hempstead branch. From there I went to Griersons Wine Merchants, part of the Trust House Forte Group until I decided to start my own company.

2007 saw the opening of our shop in Harpenden which has gone from strength to strength. In the 2008 International Wine Challenge Merchant Awards (our first year of entering) we were awarded a ‘Highly Commended’.

The ethos of the company is simple – good wines at honest prices – not wines you find everywhere, at inflated prices. Quality and value, especially in the current economic turmoil, are things that we seek out and our customers expect. I get a lot of satisfaction out of helping customers choose the right wine for them – although it can be challenging when they come in the shop and just ask for ‘a nice wine’……!

Paul has starred on Channel 4 'Come Dine With Me' when one of the Luton contestants chose the shop to purchase the wine for his dinner party and has also been a guest on Three Counties Radio 'Nick Coffers Saturday Kitchen'.
